Services
Systems engineering management
Providing project managers and designers with systems engineering management support. Acknowledging the challenges of managing the complexity of multidisciplinary working, differing processes, systems solutions, and leaveraging AI for safety and reliability.
Capabilities
We support project managers and take on some of the organizational, administration, and compliance burden as required. Core to our help in systems engineering is the recognition of managing in the multidisciplinary environment with multiple processes, and implementing a robust team-based integrated management solution. We have a wide regulatory knowledge, and experience in delivering to recognised standards and guidance, for type certification, changes, STCs, and repairs. Information intelligence is a core focus in capture and development of best quality data for decision making. Our approach includes life cycle management principles, use of existing methods, and innovation. Timely support is aligned with ISO 16290 Technology Readiness Levels, EASA Certification Readiness Levels, or client process. Considerations include any needs statement, an idea definition, or market research, then solution development, proof of concept, prototyping, permit to fly, pre-production, and production to in-service. Always working with a close eye on the resource burden.
An ARP4754™B Based life cycle

As an example, an aircraft development project based on ARP4754™B could have its integrated modular avionics suite developed following:

  • DO-297 (avionics), DO-178C (software), DO-254 (hardware), DO-326B (security) ARP4761™A (safety), and ARP5150™A (in-service)
  • A capture of stakeholder needs and operational scenarios (CONOPS)
  • Evolving configuration management and process assurance
  • Deriving and validating system requirements; establish bidirectional traceability
  • Development of functional architecture and allocation to subsystems and equipment
  • A definition of interfaces and data models; maintaining ICDs across suppliers
  • Planning and managing V&V across lab, rig, aircraft
  • Development of assurance levels and qualification means
  • Coordination of safety assessments and certification plans for compliance
  • Management of configuration, baselines, changes, impact analysis throughout.
Tools and methods

We work within the client tools suite, use our suite, or employ a combination of both to:

  • Establish standard aeronautical product configuration identification (ATA/S1000D)
  • Evolve requirements: IBM DOORS/Jama, quality metrics, and change workflows
  • Produce quality data and conduct information management using ISO10303, Part 239,  or reusable model libraries
  • Carryout analysis and simulation for early Validation, and project Verification
  • Provide end-to-end traceability from stakeholder needs to tests, progress, and problem reporting
  • Participate in design reviews: structured reviews, checklists, and objective evidence capture
  • Test management procedures, data sets, and automated results capture where feasible.
Typical deliverables
  • Certification alignment notes and compliance evidence mapping.
  • Conformity records
  • Checklists, traceability matrices and baselines
  • Interface control documents with critical and essential interactions
  • Architecture description(s), models, and unique identifiers
  • System requirements specification, and any derived requirements register
  • V&V Strategy and Plan with verification cross-reference matrices
  • Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
